Influencing clinical care through leadership and management

The RSM Trainees Committee of the Royal Society of Medicine in collaboration with Scope Health is proud to present:

"Leadership and Management Masterclass"

A 5-part evening course providing a comprehensive healthcare perspective on leadership and management.

Many aspects of day to day clinical practice require effective leadership and management skills for example running a cardiac arrest call, working within multidisciplinary teams, leading ward rounds or mentoring junior colleagues. In this course, we will formalise your leadership and management skills and show you how to apply these skills to the wider management of the NHS.

Why is this course different from the other leadership courses?
This is a novel and interactive course delivered by outstanding healthcare professionals who are successfully practicing the skills they teach. We use a variety of methods to give you the skills required to influence what goes on around you. The first step is understanding the language of management and appreciating its relevance to you as a clinician.

Over the course of 5 months you will build up a portfolio of skills that you can immediately put to use, whether you are a GP trainee ready to embark on partnership, ST6 hospital doctor looking for consultant posts, Consultant, GP or a junior trainee. These skills will help you in the difficult transition from junior to senior posts.

This course will run as 5 evening seminars spread over 5 months to minimize your time commitment and is priced to make it easily affordable to those who want to keep their study leave allocation for clinical courses. The course is highly interactive and in order to enhance the quality of the learning experience, numbers are limited to 45 delegates per session.
