AGM and Telehealth one-day seminar: Mental health and dementia
Friday 1 June 2012
Venue: Royal Society of Medicine, 1 Wimpole Street, LONDON, W1G 0AE
***Annual General Meeting of the Telemedicine & eHealth Section***
Section members should be aware that the AGM will take place at 17.00 in the Wimpole Room.
Building on the earlier two seminars, this day will focus specifically on how assistive technology can be used to assist in the management of patients with mental health problems and dementia.
As with the previous seminar on the respiratory system, the day will begin with a few sessions describing the medical aspects of the principal conditions that can be managed, for the benefit of those attending that do not have a full medical training - the particular focus will be on the cause and prevention of problems that result in unplanned hospitalisation in both the short or longer term. The importance of using the technology to support beneficial lifestyle change and to monitor, and if appropriate help manage, depression and anxiety will also be covered.
