Aims:
• To understand the investigation of human genetics
• To consider the genetic mechanisms behind normal sleep
• To discuss the genetic underpinnings of the common sleep disorders and the impact on treatment
• To reflect on future directions in genomics as it applies to sleep complaints (which are the commonest in medical practice
