President’s message

The Royal Society of Medicine is an excellent forum not only to learn about advances in our specialty, but to meet friends in a convivial atmosphere and form a supportive network. Modern trainees often complain of a lack of mentorship because of the speed with which they rotate between different departments during their clinical training. Our section is very supportive of trainees and medical students, and would like to encourage them to join with us in building a forward-looking obstetrics and gynaecology community.

We provide a meetings programme which is up-to-date, informative, conveniently timed, and above all, inexpensive. Fellows attend free, and trainees who are not members of the RSM are charged only £15 for three lectures from top specialists in the field. There is also the opportunity to stay to dinner after the meetings and talk with colleagues, both junior and senior.
