London Cardiology Training Days
Programmes of training days are provided for General Cardiology and for advanced sub-specialty training for London/Thames programme trainees by the RSM Cardiology Council on behalf of the London Cardiology Programmes, the London Deanery and the London School of Specialty Medicine.
Cardiology Training Days 2008-2009
The outline programmes for both the General Cardiology and the Sub-Specialty Training Days for the whole year are listed below. These programmes are usually published in the RSM web pages by July-August for the following October, so that StRs can arrange to be free to attend.
Programme and booking details each of these events can be found by locating them in the calendar and clicking on them. Please note that places are only guaranteed by a written acknowledgement from the Academic Department.
PMETB Attendance Requirements
Attendance at Cardiology Programme Training days is mandatory. Trainees are expected to attend all the training days relevant to their level of training and an absolute minimum of 70% of to meet PMETB requirements.
Junior Trainees (SpR 1-4 & StRs ST3-5)
Junior Trainees are reminded they should try to attend all the general Cardiology Training Days and that they must attend a minimum of 70% to meet PMETB requirements. While they are also welcome to attend the sub-specialty training days these will not be counted at their RITAs/ARCPs.
Senior trainees (SpRs 5-6 & ST6-ST7s)
Trainees undergoing sub-specialty training (Senior Trainees) are required to attend all the advanced training days appropriate to the sub-specialty in which they are undergoing advanced training and that 70% is the minimum to meet PMETB requirements. Senior Trainees are also welcome to attend General Cardiology training days, but are not required to do so and these will not be counted at their RITAs/ARCPs.
