Psychiatry and Mental Healthcare: a new code of professionalism for the 21st Century
Tuesday 9 September 2008
Venue: The Royal Society of Medicine, 1 Wimpole Street, London, W1G 0AE
A meeting in association with Royal College of Psychiatrists
For many years now mental health services have been in a state of flux and have been undergoing profound changes.
As part of these changes the roles of professionals, indeed professionalism as such, appear to be constantly challenged. The Royal College of Psychiatrists has initiated a stream of work on professionalism and as part of this work it has teamed up with the Section of Psychiatry of the Royal Society of Medicine to engage in dialogue with other professions in mental health, managers, service users and carers.
The meeting is intended to introduce and disseminate ideas of professionalism in mental health and there will be plenty of time for discussion and debate. These will inform further work on professionalism to be undertaken by the Royal College of Psychiatrists. Come and have your say!
