Temporal Bone Competition
Tuesday 26 June 2012
Venue: Addenbrookes Hospital, Hills Road, CAMBRIDGE, CB2 0QQ
The temporal bone competition is FREE to all RSM members and this year has been opened up to non-RSM members at a cost of £150.
The aim of the competition is to provide an opportunity to practice temporal bone dissection in preparation for the FRCS clinical exam. Participants have a half day sitting in which they are asked to carry out set dissections. Drilling techniques and progress through dissections are critiqued by experts in the field of otology. Trainees will be asked questions during the dissection in order to simulate the temporal bone drilling station in the FRCS examination. The competition is sponsored by Medtronic and the prize is a free place on the 2013 Cambridge course worth £1000.
There are 10 places available on the competition. Although priority is given to those that are approaching the FRCS exam, the competition is open to trainees at all stages.
Closing date for entry is Sunday 29th April 2012.
