Aims:
Get a better understanding of how to extend plasma lipid lowering therapy beyond statins in patients with type 2 diabetes

Objectives:
1. To understand the basis of diabetic dyslipidaemia
2. To find a middle ground between the gap of clinical evidence and the potential need for lipid modifying therapy in type 2 diabetes
3. To understand the key role of reducing central obesity in type 2 diabetes and potential therapies to reach this goal
