Personal genomic screening
Unfortunately this event has been cancelled
Thursday 21 October 2010
Venue: Birmingham Medical Institute, 36 Harborne Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, Midlands, B15 3AF
organised by the Royal Society of Medicine and Birmingham Medical Institute
The ready availability of personal genomic screening is hailed by some scientists as breakthrough in medical science where as others express concern about its application in clinical practice. Patient demand without appreciation of the implications could become a major problem for clinicians especially for general practitioners.
This meeting will explore the extent of the potential problem and discuss how medical scientists and clinicians should respond.
