Issues in caring for the elderly

Thursday 21 May 2009

Venue: Kingsley Hotel Conference Centre, Cork

The purpose of this conference is to update doctors (in primary and secondary care) and other health professionals on the management of a range of common but challenging medical problems in older people. As the number of older people in the population grows, doctors and health professionals will increasingly be involved in the management of this vulnerable group of people.

Areas to be covered will include challenging aspects of cognitive decline and vascular disease in older persons. In addition core issues such as assessment of falls and prescribing in late life will be addressed. We will also address the difficult area of Elder Abuse in view of its recent national and international interest and focus.
