Clinical update: Tropical and travel medicine for General Physicians and GPs in the UK

Tuesday 29 April 2008

Venue: The Royal Society of Medicine, 1 Wimpole Street, London, W1G 0AE

The aim of this Clinical Update conference on tropical medicine is to provide the specialist knowledge and skills necessary for general physicians and GPs to recognise and manage acute presentations of tropical diseases in the UK.
With the greater mobility of populations and changing patterns of disease, tropical diseases are being seen more frequently in the UK. It is obviously important that those working on the frontlines of medicine feel confident in the safe acute management of these problems, before specialist help is available.

This conference will examine some common problems, the emphasis throughout being on practical management.
