AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
1. Comprehensive overview of recent developments in immunology, epidemiology, public health, and clinical aspects of infectious diseases.
2. Discussion of novel vaccines for infectious diseases including but not limited to malaria, tuberculosis, and HIV.
3. Discussion of genetic susceptibility to infectious diseases and implications for vaccination policy.
4. Discussion of public health implications relating to access to essential medicines and vaccines.
5. Create a forum for interdisciplinary collaboration and discussion on infectious diseases, bridging academia, clinical medicine, veterinary medicine, industry, government and the public.
6. Suitable for scientists, clinicians, animal health specialists, public health specialists, students, and trainees with an interest in infectious diseases.

President's Prize
Call for Abstracts
Abstracts are invited from students, training grade doctors and young scientists including PhD students (not above Specialist Registrar, Grade B Clinical Scientist or equivalent grade) with an infectious diseases, immunology or allergy component of their clinical or basic science research work. The work to be presented must be original and substantially the candidate's own.
Abstracts should be sent to immunology@rsm.ac.uk. Deadline for abstract: Monday 23 January 2012
Successful candidates will be contacted and will be expected to attend and present on Saturday 11 February 2012
