Venue: The Royal Society of Medicine, 1 Wimpole Street, London, W1G 0AE
organised by the Royal Society of Medicine in association with General Practice with Primary Health Care Section, Paediatrics & Child Health Section, Intellectual Disability Forum and the Psychiatry Section
Participating Sections:
General Practice with Primary Health Care Section, Psychiatry Section, Paediatrics & Child Health Section
Autism remains a difficult and ill understood disorder, yet it may have the most immediate and distressing impact on the lives of sufferers and their families. To complicate matters in the last decade it has been a subject of intense controversy, which has perhaps diverted attention from the task of reaching a better understanding and offering appropriate help to those affected.
This conference aims to cut through the fog! We shall be offering an expert update on key issues with plenty of time for discussion and participation. We will then examine the current evidence for intervention and treatment and, by including the voice of affected families, will come to a better understanding of how we can help.
Our final objective is to come to a much broader understanding of Autism. This conference will provide an opportunity for inter-disciplinary discussion and networking
This conference is for all who work in the field of Autistic Spectrum Disorders. It is also for those in child, adolescent and adult Psychiatry, disability related fields and Primary Care.
